The water leaves the mill race and enters the pond. The current slows as it passes the bulrushes and sweet-grass, the waves become ripples and then nothing but calm water. Here the plate-like leaves of the water lilies float and nudge against each other, contrasting with the spear-like grasses and rushes. Above, clouds pass across the blue sky. All is reflected by the water’s surface.
My images combine these natural shapes, lines, patterns and reflections to re-imagine the mill pond with new and varied colour palettes and layers of intrigue.
