My creative world is one of fun and colour, and here I view a coastal harbour through the lens of the extrovert world of Pop Art.
At the heart of Wells-next-the-Sea on the north Norfolk coast is the quay, where pleasure boats are moored close to the small commercial fishing fleet. Dominating the whole harbour is the Granary, with its iconic overhanging gantry.
In my new and exciting vision of Wells you will see colour, silhouettes, collages, shapes and textures created from the multi-coloured fish crates, the neat stacks of lobster pots, the buoys and fenders, even the quayside concrete; and above all the shapes, legs and silhouettes of the gantry. Through my vivid colour palette and strong graphic images combining iconic and mundane subjects I hope you may catch a glimpse of Pop Art in the 21st century.
You can see these images in my latest solo exhibition ‘Pop Art Next-the-Sea’ held at Gallery 6 in Newark in from 28 October to 31 December 2025.
