Lake District

On  a workshop in the Lake District with Valda Bailey, Doug Chinnery, Joe Cornish and David Ward we were the set the challenge of creating images that explored the concept of ‘intense aloneness’ – how it feels to be alone in a beautiful and dramatic landscape.

The hills, woods, grasslands and watersides of Derwentwater in autumn provided many stimuli. Using shapes, colours, patterns and textures, I was able to create these intriguing images that convey a range of moods and emotions – from deep, dark and enveloped to bright, positive and free.
